Sunday , I got baptized by my husband. ❤️ And this one was different.
Our church gathered at the river for baptism, and I stood on the bank watching my husband—our pastor—baptize person after person. More than 40 people stepped into that river to publicly declare their faith, renew their commitment, and say YES to Jesus.
And as I stood there watching, something began to happen.
The wind started to blow.
Then the rain began to fall.
And after so many unbearably hot days, suddenly there was this beautiful, cool breeze blowing across the river.
I couldn’t help but think, Fresh wind. Fresh rain. The breath of God.
It felt even more significant because just last week, I felt the Lord speaking to me about removing the umbrella of resistance—to stop shielding ourselves from what He wants to pour out, and instead receive it and dance in the rain of His Spirit.
And now I was standing in a river… in the rain… with the wind blowing… watching God stir heart after heart.
Then something else happened.
After baptizing so many others, my husband had some of the men of our church baptize him again—not because his first baptism wasn’t real, but as a fresh declaration of surrender and commitment to God for this new season.
And standing there watching him come up out of that river, I felt the Lord dealing with me.
There was a significance to this moment that I couldn’t ignore.
The other times I had been baptized, my husband wasn’t in the place of leadership that God has him in today. But yesterday, I felt so strongly in my spirit:
“This is a new season. I am doing a new thing.”
And I knew—I needed to get in that river.
Not because my previous baptism didn’t matter. Not because I needed to be saved again. But because I wanted to mark this moment with a fresh surrender, a fresh commitment, and a fresh YES to whatever God has for the next season of my life.
So I stepped into the river.
And my husband baptized me. ❤️
There in the river, with the rain falling and the fresh wind blowing, I made my declaration again:
Jesus, I am Yours.
Whatever You are doing in this season, I want to be part of it.
Wherever You are leading, I will follow.
No umbrella. No resistance.
I receive the rain.
I receive the fresh wind.
I receive the new thing.
Sunday, wasn’t just another baptism.
For me, it was a marker.
A new season.
A fresh wind.
A renewed surrender.
And another YES to Jesus.
“Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?” — Isaiah 43:19
